It includes comprehensive regulations for wiring, overcurrent protection, grounding, and installation—as well as updates and five all-new Articles like Article 706 for Energy Storage Systems.

Additionally, you can easily see the revisions. Gray shading indicates technical changes, an “N” icon indicates new Articles and text, while bullet points show where paragraphs were deleted. However, while this app is definitely convenient, it lacks easy bookmarking features like highlighting text or pages. Searching for terms is also tricky since it won’t look at the whole manual and only the current article you’re on. Not to mention that sometimes, the search function doesn’t register properly.

Needs some updates

All in all, NFPA 70 2017 Edition is a great safety reference app to have but it doesn’t have some necessary app features that would make it even better for all types of users. While you can easily check out the changes made to this edition, you can’t highlight key phrases for your benefit and it’s quite hard to search terms throughout the whole document. Nevertheless, this is a handy educational app to get.
